Every day is a new adventure, a new opportunity to be a better, more realized you. Although, sometimes we need a little boost because we’re feeling sluggish, sad, or exhausted from day-to-day life. It can be hard to self-motivate or find inspiration around you, but it’s definitely possible.
We’ve compiled a list of inspirational ways to get yourself going every day, because we all could use a little boost sometimes. Here’s a variety of ways to motivate and inspire yourself:
- Start small, build momentum, and allow ideas to come to you.
- This is especially helpful with creative tasks like writing, drawing, composing, etc.
- Create a playlist full of energetic music and play it on a loop.
- Go for a run or walk.
- Nature is full of inspiration, use that to your advantage.
- Declutter the space around you; a cluttered desk = a cluttered mind.
- Declutter doesn’t necessarily mean “throw away,” simply reorganize your space and store things taking up room.
- Take a nap! Mid-afternoon naps are particularly effective for productivity.
- Read a short book.
- Poetry books or books with short stories are great choices for a quick read.
- Scroll through Pinterest boards for inspiration.
- Flip through a color swatch book or Pantone’s color finder.
- For some people, color is a stimulus for inspiration and can help the mind find answers with less difficulty.
- Meditate in a dark room or do a little yoga.
- Set periodic reminders with motivational quotes or inspirational phrases.
- There are countless apps who provide this little service as well!
- Take a shower.
- Watch Bob Ross painting videos.
- Create a physical list of goals and set it somewhere in front of you.
- A modern chalkboard or dry erase board that you can also use for tasks is great to have!
- Listen to TedTalk or other motivational videos.
- Get dressed up in a cute outfit and take yourself out to a cafe.
- Sit outdoors in the sun for a while.
- Soak up Vitamin D as a mental health cleanse.
- Volunteer for a local charity or community organization.
- Daydream the perfect scenario.
- Sit back and take some time out of your day to envision the best outcome.
- Make a list or create a moodboard of everything that makes you smile.
- Develop a mantra and repeat it yourself daily.
- “I can do this!” “Every day is a new beginning.” “It gets better.”
This list could’ve gone on and on, but this is a great way to get started. Remember the most important thing: take it easy on yourself and be your own cheerleader. You’re in charge of your own destiny, so take a deep breath and go for it.
